Responsibilities: Maintenance and new development for mainframe systems and interfaces to UNIX systems for aerospace support systems including sales order, inventory control, purchasing, and forecasting.  My role included all phases of the development lifecycle from gathering and publishing project requirements, formatting conceptual and detailed system designs, creating program specifications and all levels of testing plans, as well as coordinating user acceptance testing and implementation planing.   this included supervision of the programming and outsourced resources.   participated in process improvement teams to integrate SEI-CMM guidelines into systems development.  Implemented Year2000 conversions for 3 major systems utilizing MicroFocus Express.  Most systems utilized COBOL/IMS DB/DC with some DB2.

Cara Corporation     Position: Contractor at American Express (CFE)

Responsibilities: Worked on new development and on-going maintenance for the Asset Backed Securities and Optima Installment Billing systems. Tasks ranged from analysis and creating program specifications through programming and various levels of testing including supporting user acceptance testing. Systems utilized COBOL/IMS DB/DC to support asset management and multiple billing cycles.

Responsibilities: Functioned as a senior analyst to perform project planning and management, systems analysis and design, creation of program specifications, programming and various levels of testing as well as managing other contract resources on the projects. Worked on both new development to replace existing systems as well as on-going maintenance. Systems were primarily COBOL/IMS DB/DC, with some DB2 to support order management, inventory maintenance, shipping and regulatory concerns.

Maricopa County Health Services      Position: Lead Programmer Analyst

Responsibilities: Supervising junior programmers and user trainees; systems analysis and design, programming, testing, and pilot implementation of an IBM LAN application written in EASEL and SQL on an OS/2 platform with Database Manager. Project involved creating a client server system to manage the county medical aid program at 25 sites and was designed to replace an existing mainframe application. JAD development techniques were used to define and tune the system. Duties also included creating a user manual and conducting user training.

The Northern Trust Company     Position: Systems Officer/Team Leader

Responsibilities: Supervision of three programmers; project planning and administration of project docket with various user areas, requirements gathering, systems analysis and design. System was mainframe COBOL/CICS and used to process electronic payments through the Federal Reserve System, primarily company payrolls.

The Options Clearing Corporation      Position: Senior Programmer Analyst

Responsibilities: Production support and new development on a nationwide clearing system for options and futures trading. The system utilized IDMS, COBOL, and VSAM in a mainframe environment. Duties included systems analysis, design, programming and various levels of testing.

The Northern Trust Company     Position: Technical Analyst

Responsibilities: Support of bond trading and securities portfolio systems in a mainframe environment. Analysis, programming and testing were involved utilizing IMS DB/DC, COBOL, PL/I and VSAM.

IMS DB/DC, VSAM, some DB2 including use of platinum tools, OS/MVS JCL, TSO/ISPF, Panvalet, Librarian, FileAid, IMSXPERT and other utilities including MicroFocus COBOL and MicroFocus Mainframe Express. OS/2 with Database Manager(SQL) and LAN Server, Windows, EASEL Workbench and EASEL/2, WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, ABC Flowcharter, Micrographx, and Visio, Microsoft Project. Primavera P3 Project Management training taken but not used extensively yet. Languages include COBOL, PL/I, EASEL.
